The year 2004 was quite busy for me indeed. January 30th I got my first Leica, M4P which was love at first sight. I got this Voigtländer Color Skopar 21mm F4 at the same at time in mint condition.

I always have loved taking wide angle landscapes, so thing lens was practically a must for me. Sure, it does not have the Leica name nor their specifications. But guess what? This lens costs you only 1/5 or 1/10 of the Leica 21 mm lenses, with usability that is far more than 10 or 20 % or those Leicas.

This lens comes with an extra viewfinder that put on you Leica M hot shoe. You can’t use properly the built-in Leica M viewfinder, which works from 35 mm lenses and above. This viewfinder is crystal sharp.

I loved using this super sharp and small-sized lens, which fits into any pocket. The extra viewfinder is not a biggie to use: leave it in the hot shoe, change the lens and shoot with that lens using the built-in viewfinder. The only sad thing about this is its slow speed: F4. In case of low light, you will miss the F1.4 or whatever true Leica lenses you have, and you leave this in your pocket.

This lens is a for M mount Leica rangefinder camera that means you need to focus manually the image using your eyes, matching the small images into parallel in the cameras viewfinder. With this lens you have a knob to hold and set the focus, which is really nice to use.

If you have bad vision, and you want to use this camera for taking good shots, you should not buy this camera part. If you love cameras, have money and are a collector, then perhaps. 😉 If I was a camera collector, I would never sell this lens, but as I am not and have now certifiably bad vision, so here you go, and I cry. 🙁

I tested my Leica M4P on February 2016 with this lens also, and I found no problem with either of them. I used a single roll of expired Kodak Ektachrome E100GX 135 that run before this camera in two other cameras, and still the film and camera run like a charm. The only problem was with my vision, and that is the only reason I’m selling these fine pieces of equipment.

I am no camera selling professional and am not officially qualified to judge the condition of this lens. I have checked the lens and I haven’t noted anything in malfunction. If you desire, and I can send you more / higher resolution photos per email. Cosmetically, it is as you see from the photos. I have marked it very good condition, because there is a small dent in the hood that is screwed to the lens. Of course, I could have taken the hood and sell the lens without, but that is not how I do business. Besides the dent, this lens would be at least “excellent condition”, although in eBay there might be many to state that it is already like that as it now is.

This lens comes with the original box, manual, viewfinder, cap and hood. With utmost reluctance I am selling this great and desired lens, buy it now 500 euros, shipping only to be done fully insured, local pickup, testing and reasonable offers welcome.

Remember if you buy outside EU and you are in EU, you need to pay customs tax (typically ca. 5 %) and VAT (typically around 20 – 25 %) which are added on top of shipping and insurance costs. To my understanding, these costs are calculated and due regardless of the age and condition of the item! There are calculators on-line for this, like from Pitney Bowes.

Yes, of course, I will combine shipping for reduced shipping costs. I urge you to my buy more from me and will be flexible with it. Please note the somewhat expensive shipping costs from Finland, especially if insurance is needed. If the value of order gets to a higher level, I insist on taken an insurance for the shipping.
