MUCH MORE TO COME!

I got my Mamiya RB67 ProS camera set with lenses and other stuff on a trade in 2001. I had already experience on shooting with this “funny style”, looking at left right rotated image through a “built-in” magnifying glass with my Mamiya C330 Pro that I got the year earlier. By this time I had done quite plenty of photographing gigs on the side of my real work, which got me two titles (now I use both of them, as I got commented on even that) onto my business card that I think have mostly done we worse than good(?) :-/

I have done some gigs with this camera, and looking at my scanned photos brings me good memories. As my main job was to do my research, the photography was always on the side and it brought a bit of butter on top of my bread, as the salary from the technical university was quite low on our standards. But as I spend so much on the apparatus, film and other materials, I frankly said never made the butter, so I ate my bread without the butter (or was that later then.. well the student cafeterias were cheap thank God/gods at least and they served me well). I just loved hearing to noise that this camera makes when pressing the release, it remained me always that I have created something permanent (no matter were there film inside or not, was it properly exposed etc.). Well, call me stupid, but I got my PhD in acoustics and (spatial, 3-D) hearing.. 😉

I guess I am really loosing my religion by selling all my cameras, especially this which made me the largest payments on a single shooting gig. I really do love the feel of this camera, and how well it is built. Of course, this means every is metal and glass, it is heavy and robust and you need consider where and how you can use it. As it takes natively 6×7 format images (to a 120/220 roll) it is just perfect for portrait photography on studio locations. But that doesn’t mean you could not use it otherwise. Yes, it makes me sad I have no-one to teach the mysteries and mystical moments shooting real cameras and real film, but that is life. 🙁

So, I let others to keep the ball rolling. Here is your change a piece of a historic icon among studio photographers, I believe this camera has been one of the most used in the field. Yes, yes, I know there are the smaller and lighter Hasselblads 5xx xx series that people also have used a lot (but not me, ever but the panoramic XPan that is really a Fuji camera and just otherwise branded) a lot in the studio, but guess what? Those Hassys are 6×6 and don’t have the bellows focusing that this 6×7 RB (RZ)s have, so doing something like close-ups, food stuff and macrophotos and frankly, I think the Hassy lenses would never perform like these Mamiya ones.

With great reluctance I am selling this Mamiya RB67 ProS Cassette Back with dark slide in auction, starting 1 euros, with reserve and buy it now 65 euros, local pickup and testing welcome.

I am no camera selling professional and am not officially qualified to judge the condition of this camera part. I have checked the camera part (with a body and lenses) and I haven’t noted anything in malfunction, yet I have not loaded recently any film on it. Cosmetically it is as you see from the photos which also show how the item fits to my Mamiya RB67 ProS that is also for sale. I have marked it good condition, as stating it “very good” would be, I believe be too much, although in eBay there might be many to state that.

If you are interested in all my 120/220 medium format Mamiya RB67 Pro-S camera equipment, here is the full list:

If you want to buy the whole set (last two photos), fine by me, but I do want some serious money for it, so please don’t make me too low ball offers. Please note that if the auction has already a bid over the reserve price, then you are too late for bargaining that item and you just need to bid on it (and win it, to get it!).

Remember if you buy outside EU and you are in EU, you need to pay customs tax (typically ca. 5 %) and VAT (typically around 20 – 25 %) which are added on top of shipping and insurance costs. To my understanding, these costs are calculated and due regardless of the age and condition of the item! There are calculators on-line for this, like from Pitney Bowes.

Yes, of course I will combine shipping for reduced shipping costs. I urge you to my buy more from me and will be flexible with it. Please note the somewhat expensive shipping costs from Finland, especially if insurance is needed. If the value of order gets to a higher level, I insist on taken an insurance for the shipping.

If you have more questions, please contact me directly.
